Hey fab friends! I hope this finds you well.
This marks the start of an exciting week for us and many others who will be apart of this year's Devon Horse Show and Country Fair.
The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed horse show in the United States! Boutique shopping, noteworthy food, art gallery, and a sweeping Midway complete with a Ferris wheel, carousel, and games are just a few of the attractions for visitors to enjoy. Equestrians, spectators, and visitors alike come from around the world to attend. It is safe to say that it is not your “average” horse show venue. For many, like Caitlyn Connors, it is a family tradition that marks the start of summer. The horse show features hunters, jumpers, equitation, saddlebreds, roadsters, hackney horses and ponies, Friesians, coaching, & carriage pleasure driving.
We had the opportunity to catch up with the fabulous Caitlyn Connors, one of our star brand ambassadors. The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is a very meaningful part of her summer schedule and we wanted to learn more about Devon from her perspective.
Caitlyn:
Devon means so much to me. I started going to Devon when I was three, and have never missed a year. The atmosphere is what makes it unique, with just as many non-horse people there as horse people. It gives you a chance to appreciate our magnificent sport from the eyes of people who are not intimately involved, which is refreshing and exciting. The whole feel of the show is slightly magical because of this and the rides and venues. Since I consider Devon my home show, my family and I have been involved with volunteering for years. I started out volunteering at the souvenir booth and handing out schedules. The past few years though I have been more involved with the marketing for Devon through modeling merchandise with my horses and doing local PR about the show from the perspective of a rider and local.
Since last year little has changed with the horses, though I think they are getting better every day! Blue jumps his heart out for me every time, and because of that, we have had some amazing opportunities over the past year. Bink decided retirement didn’t suit him, so we have been slowly bringing him back. It is the best feeling to watch how happy he is to have his job back and how much he is enjoying himself. Boley is for sale, which breaks my heart, but I know he will be able to make someone else’s dreams come true like he did mine. Lastly, we have a new horse in the barn that I have been riding for Alonso Prado. I call her Bean because she is a little jumping bean! I adore her and she brings such good energy to the barn. She is very talented and I look forward to what our future holds. It is an honor to have this sale horse in our barn and have this experience.

The beneficiary of the Devon Horse Show and County Fair is Bryn Mawr Hospital. To date, Devon has made $15 million in donations. The yearly donation from Devon is set for a specific purchase based on the highest needs of the hospital.
The goal? To ensure that Bryn Mawr Hospital remains one of the top community hospitals in the country.
The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is the single largest contributor to Bryn Mawr Hospital. This unique and special relationship is only possible through the dedication of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair volunteers.
Sarah and the Fab Finds crew are so excited to get set up and see everyone at Devon! Come visit, shop, and enjoy the show with us!
